CCS Bard (Center for Curatorial Studies) is a world class contemporary art museum, library, and graduate school, underpinned by growing collections and archives. The new website seeks to highlight the intersections between these different aspects of the institution’s identity while ensuring that different user groups can quickly find information that is relevant to them.
This website brings with it the ability to browse some of the items from the Marieluise Hessel Collection, a permanent collection of contemporary art comprising more than 3,000 works by more than 400 of the most prominent artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Combined with imagery of the surrounding physical landscape, access to these collection images allows the website to provide a more comprehensive insight into the visual and conceptual context of one of the art world’s true sanctuaries.
