Taking our identity for Columbia Books on Architecture and the City as a starting point, the website expands on the idea of the synthetic “placeholder” logo. Here we consider the point of view of the user as an inspiration for how we represent both printed and digital books.
The catalog section of the site functions as a highly sortable archive of all books, viewable by covers, spines or text. As CBAC updates their printed catalog each year, the site’s color schema reflects the Pantone colors used in print.
